I am Bell Lax’s newest qualified solicitor, having officially completed my training contract on 31st May 2019. Below is a picture of me celebrating F1-style!
Firstly, a big thank you to all of those who have been involved in my training to date. You know who you are, and I couldn’t have qualified as a solicitor without your input.
Secondly, a bit of background. I began working for Bell Lax in June 2016, having obtained a distinction on the Legal Practice Course and a First Class Degree in Law with French. Since the start of my legal career, I have specialised exclusively in dispute resolution, and have worked on a wide variety of cases in the Commercial Litigation Department at Bell Lax.
I’ve always been quite competitive (having 3 brothers helps with that) and have a strong drive to win on behalf of my clients.
I also thoroughly enjoy advising clients and resolving disputes, and therefore significantly reducing their stress as a result. It feels satisfying knowing that a client is able to continue with their life/business because of work I have carried out.
Throughout the course of my training contract, I have had the benefit of working on a number of high value construction cases, including assisting in the successful enforcement of an adjudicator’s decision via a summary judgment application in the Technology and Construction Court in London. This is an area I am continuing to work in now I am qualified.
I am also focussing more specifically on inheritance claims and disputes over wills. I find acting in such matters very rewarding, because they can be very personal and all-consuming for clients. I find a good deal of satisfaction in minimising the stress for clients at a difficult time.
I am looking forward to progressing my career at Bell Lax and to resolving many more disputes in the future.
