Conveyancing solicitors negligence - failed to register a lease

A local restaurant took out a new lease to expand its business. Their solicitors failed to register the new lease within the legally required time limits. The restaurant owners did not discover this until they later tried to sell the restaurant – the solicitors’ mistake meant they could not sell the restaurant. The solicitors then tried to register the lease but were unable to do so.
